Read on for the latest news and take a trip down memory lane...
We're all settled in here at Good Shepherd, having completed our first successful weeks of school. After a lovely Labor Day weekend, we are definitely setting our sights on the fall season ahead.
Soccer practices have begun, and we say "thank you" in advance to our coaches: PreK - 2, Coach Chris Haggett, 3rd - 5th grade, Coaches Melissa Burroughs and Beth Choiniere, and 6th - 8th, Coaches Alan & Celise Johnson and Dennis Keon. Check the "Calendar/Events" page for game times and locations, and come on out to enjoy the fall weather and cheer on our teams! Local artist/sculptor Jack Stewart has spent the past 2 weeks as an artist-in-residence here at Good Shepherd. He is working with students in clay, developing and creating their own works which Stewart will then fire in a kiln that he facilitates for Good Shepherd. Thanks to the PTG for sponsoring the residency, and to Mrs. Bostic for coordinating the classes.

Now for that trip down Memory Lane... Our Lady of Victory (Cherry St.) known as the "1st church" and Notre Dame des Victoires Church on Prospect St. "back in the day." Good Shepherd is once again participating in the St. Johnsbury Fall Foliage Festival & Parade on Sunday, September 27th. The theme of this year's parade is "The Good Old Days," and we will be celebrating in style, inviting graduates of St. Johnsbury's Catholic Schools, past and present. Graduates of Mount St. Joseph Academy, St. Gabriel School, Notre Dame, Catholic Central, and Good Shepherd are invited and encouraged to join in the parade, where 135 years of Catholic Schools in St. Johnsbury will be represented in photos, stories, and in person. Our students will be learning about our rich history, and would love to hear stories from "The Good Old Days" and meet some alumni.
St. Gabriel School for boys on Cherry St.
Mount Saint Joseph School for girls on Charles St. Many thanks to Mrs. Gert Dussault for sharing these photos, along with an abundance of historical information. Please check back for details later this month, and mark the date - hope to see you there. The Kingdom Challenge is less than 2 months away - to be held this year on October 31st - All Hallows Eve. If the half-marathon is just too scary, there's a 5k run/walk through St. J's "4 Seasons Neighborhood." This event is sponsored by, and benefits Good Shepherd Catholic School, so whether you participate in the race or come out to cheer on the racers, mark you calendar and join us along the route.
