Principal’s Weekly LetterFriday, February 19, 2010 This has been a week filled with special events.
Our Mardi Gras celebration was a lot of fun. Many thanks to the volunteers and families that made it such a success. Bishop Matano celebrated Mass with our students on Ash Wednesday. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of schools also attended, and everyone commented on our wonderful students. They answered the Bishop’s questions thoughtfully and well and made us all very proud. As I’m sure you all know, school will be closed from February 22-26 for our Winter Break. When we return, Monday, March 1 will be our final Winter Sports Day. Students should come to school in casual (warm) clothes that day. Also, there will be NO HOT LUNCH on Monday, March 1 or Tuesday, March 2. Please be sure to pack a lunch for your child on those days. Your March hot lunch forms must be returned no later than March 1 as well. Our Scholastic Book Fair will be at Good Shepherd from Tuesday March 9 to Monday March 15. It is an exciting and educational way to encourage our children to love books. We will be sending home book flyers when we get back from vacation so everyone will have a sneak peek at what will be arriving on the 9th. Cindy Willis is looking for volunteers who would like to help out for an hour or so during the school day. As a thank you, volunteers may pick out a book for themselves! A sign up sheet will be at the office door or you can contact Cindy at 751-6138 or email skisnow247@yahoo.com .
Please check our website for the minutes from our latest PTG meeting. Just go to the PTG page of the Parent Place. Father/Daughter Dance picture frames are still available in the school office. Please mark March 9 on your calendars; that will be our annual re-enrollment night. You can get your paperwork done, have a snack and shop at the Book Fair all in one convenient location!! Have a peaceful and joy-filled week with your families, Karen
