Principal’s Weekly LetterFriday, September 5, 2008 Dear Parents, As of this week the preschool through eighth grade classes and the After School and Extended Care Programs at Good Shepherd are in full operation.
Students, staff, and families are settling into the wonderful routine of the academic year. It is a great time of the school year; enthusiasm and energy are high, and Good Shepherd is a very good place to be.
Soccer skills-training and practice sessions have begun for our k-8 students, thanks to the volunteer efforts of a number of parents.
Grandparents Day activities were celebrated today at the Father Lively Center; then Father Schnobrich led a prayer service at St. John the Evangelist Church for students, staff, and of course grandparents; afterwards the grandparents were welcomed at the Good Shepherd building on Maple Street. There was music sung by some of the students, a short sing-along for all, and good refreshments for everybody. We were delighted to be able to welcome our Good Shepherd grandparents and are grateful for their presence here and in the children's lives.
Please note that on next Wednesday, September 10, students will be dismissed after lunch, at noon, because of a scheduled inservice for the teachers.
I wish you a good weekend.
Peace,
Bob Gessner
