Tuesday, March 9 is Re-Enrollment Day!

Come in any time from 12:00 to 6:30 PM and fill out your Continued Enrollment forms for next year.  Snacks will be available, and the Book Fair will be open for you to browse.

On Wednesday, March 10, we will dismiss at noon for a faculty in-service.  There will be no after-school program at the Maple Street school on that day.

The Book Fair will run from March 9 to March 15.  This is a very special event as it promotes a love of reading and raises funds for our school.  When you visit the Book Fair, please notice that each of the classrooms has a book wish list.  You can give a book to your child's classroom library that will inspire many future readers.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Cindy Willis at 751-6138.

Another great way to celebrate reading is to check out Ticket to Read.  Through a grant, grades 1 through 6 currently have free access to this online reading software for the entire school year.  Ticket to Read provides excellent practice in reading comprehension, an important component of the upcoming Terra Nova tests and also reinforces strategies to improve textbook understanding.  Students can access their accounts at home as often as they wish; however, families with dial-up Internet access may find that the software does not load properly.  Please take advantage of this opportunity; if you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.

Our PTG will soon be electing a new president and vice-president.  If you would be interested in serving in either of these positions, please contact Cynthia DeKett.

On Friday, March 19, the Knights of Columbus will be holding their Annual Lenten Fish Fry at St. Elizabeth Church in Lyndonville.  It will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m.  The cost is $8.00 per person.

The Stations of the Cross are held every Friday at 7:00 p.m. in all three area parishes (St. John the Evangelist, St. Elizabeth, and Queen of Peace).  We hope that you will take time to experience this during this Lenten season.

Congratulations and good luck to our Good Shepherd basketball teams that are participating in the Rotary Tournament.  All three teams won their first game and will advance to the second round.  Thank you to our dedicated coaches and parents that make this possible.
