ADMINISTRATION

                      Robert E. Burke is the Principal.  Prior to joining the Good Shepherd Family he was a Military Professor at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Mr. Burke recently retired from the U.S. Navy after 28 years of service.  He held assignments at sea, shore stations, and the Pentagon over his career to include one-year tour in Afghanistan working to counter the production, emplacement and effects of  Improvised Explosive Devices. Mr. Burke holds a BS in Marine Transportation from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, an MS in Ocean Systems Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.  He lives with his family in Cabot.

Joy Ely is the Assistant Principal.  Joy graduated from Lyndon State College with a BS in Human Services and Counseling, and holds graduate credits towards her Masters of Education from Plymouth State University.  Prior to joining the Good Shepherd community, Joy was the director of several Residential programs in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine as well as was a School Director of a school in Saint Johnsbury, Vt.  She currently lives in Saint Johnsbury with her husband Patrick and three amazing children, Emily (GSCS '18), Camden (GSCS '20) and Addison (GSCS '22).

Tonya Caron is the Director of Early Education. Tonya has an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and is currently completing her senior year at Johnson State College, anticipating her degree in Elementary Education with a Psychology Endorsement. She lives in Lyndonville with her husband and three beautiful children, with whom she enjoys camping and kayaking.

Jodi Gingue is the Administrative Assistant.  Jodi Lives in Lyndonville with her 5 beautiful children, Micaela, Krysta (GSCS'2010), Brianna (GSCS '13), Curtis (GSCS '15),  Carter (GSCS '17) and her husband Gerard.  Prior to work for Good Shepherd, Jodi managed and co-operated the family owned construction company as well as worked as a commercial lending associate for a local bank.  When Jodi is not running her children around she enjoys spending her free time reading, going to the ocean, and visiting with family and friends.

Sandra Rankin is the new Preschool teacher . Sandra lives in St. Johnsbury with my husband Deane and three children, Brigette (GSCS '09), Jasper (GSCS '14), and Delaney (GSCS '18).  Sandra has a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont and she has worked with young children since the age of sixteen as a camp counselor, camp director, nanny, and teacher. Most recently, I have been an extended care teacher at Good Shepherd and have enjoyed it immensely.

Beverly McCarthy teaches Kindergarten.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UMass/Dartmouth. Beverly brings her creativity into the classroom encouraging the students to observe and document the world around them in many projects throughout the year. She enjoys spending time with her family swimming (especially in Lake Willoughby), kayaking, hiking, and skiing. Beverly also coaches the gymnastics team for Saint Johnsbury Academy. When she can find free time she enjoys painting on silk fabric.




Linda Brown teaches Music, Kindergarten Religious Education, supports the after care program. Linda has a BA in Education with a minor in Early Childhood from Mt. St. Mary College and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She has taught preschool, pre-k and kindergarten for over 25 years, and continues to teach religious education at St. Rose of Lima parish in Littleton. Linda lives in Franconia with her husband Greg, and enjoys 4 children, 2 step-children and 6 grandchildren.



GSCS CLASSROOM TEACHERS


Lauren Smith teaches 1st Grade.  Lauren recently graduated from Lyndon State College with a double major, Bachelor of Science Degrees in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies with concentrations in English and Social Sciences.  She was born and raised in St. Johnsbury.  She is a lifeguard and a swimming lesson instructor at the Kiwanis Pool and Saint Johnsbury Academy.  She enjoys reading, being outside, cooking, watching and playing sports.  She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Molly.

Dawn Frechette teaches 2nd Grade.  She holds a BS in Elementary Education from Castleton State College and lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband John and children Marianna (GSCS '11), Gwen (GSCS '14), and Max (GSCS '16).  She enjoys reading and computers.

Lynn Cartularo teaches 3rd Grade.  Lynn earned a BS in Finance from Bentley College, and is currently completing coursework for her teaching certificate at Lyndon State College.  She lives in Lyndon with her husband Vinny and sons Nick, Michael, and Ryan (GSCS '13).

Lindsey Stahler teaches 4th Grade.  She holds a BA in Elementary Education and American Studies from St. Michael's College.  Lindsey lives in Waterford.  She enjoys being outside, cooking, reading, and playing cards.

Sonia Jolliffe teaches 5th/6th Grade.  Sonia attended Catholic School while growing up in Louisville, Kentucky and is a firm believer in the benefits of a Catholic education.  She received a B.A. in English from DePauw University and did graduate work in Education at California State University in Northridge.  Mrs. Jolliffe taught English and French in California, Composition at Wheeling Jesuit University, and English at St. Johnsbury Academy before following her daughters Emerson (GSCS '17) and Siri (GSCS '20) to Good Shepherd.  Mrs. Jolliffe lives in West Barnet with her husband, daughters and two-year old son, Henry. An avid hiker and a voracious reader, she loves cooking, writing, and spending time with her family outside.

Laurie Roberts teaches 5th/6th Grade.   Laurie is a graduate of the University of Maine Orono with a B.S. in Natural Resources, with a concentration in soil and water conservation.  She holds an Associates Degree in Business Management from Northern Essex Community College.  She attended Lyndon State College's teacher certification program, and holds a license, awarded by the state of Vermont Department of Education.  Laurie lives in Lyndonville with her husband Doug, two children, Ethan (GSCS '13), Ann (GSCS '16), one dog and two rabbits.

Annie Angell teaches 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies.  She graduated from Lyndon State College with a BA in English Literature with a focus in secondary education.  Annie lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband Tim, son Coulson (GSCS '20) and infant daughter Chloe.

Mary Hughes teaches 7th and 8th grade Math and Religion.  Mary holds a BS from the University of Vermont.  She lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband Dan and son Brendan (GSCS '08).  She also has two grown daughters.

JoAnn Clark teaches 7th and 8th grade Science.   JoAnn grew up and attended schools in Townsend, Massachusetts.  She attended Fitchburg State College where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Art, and later earned her M.S. in Science Education from the same institution.  Over her career she has taught at the middle and high school levels in Massachusetts, middle and elementary levels in New Hampshire, and for the last 20 years, grades 5-8 at the Lyndon Town School.  Away from the classroom, she enjoys paddling in the kayak she built, arts and crafts of all kinds (with a newly-found interest in felting), playing her guitar, gardening, and most any activity outdoors.

Marci Bostic teaches Art. Marci holds a BFA from Johnson State College with a minor in Art Education K - 12. She lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband Glenn, daughters Neva (GSCS '15) and Isabella (GSCS '17) and son Luke (GSCS '22).






Mary Dionisio teaches French. Mary's primary language is French, and she lives in Wheelock with her husband Arthur and sons Joe and Arty.

Karen Haskins is the Librarian.   Karen holds a BA in Modern Languages/Rhetoric from Nazareth College of Rochester and an MA in English Literature from St. Bonaventure University. She lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband Merle and children Emma, Sam (GSCS '04), Eli (GSCS '08), Alice (GSCS '09).





John Frechette is the Maintenance Director. John holds a BS in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Castleton State College and is an Administrative Assistant at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility. He and his wife, Dawn (GSCS 2nd grade teacher), live in St. Johnsbury with their children, Marianna (GSCS '11), Gwen (GSCS '14) and Max(GSCS '16).
